We’d like to invite you to tour this historic jail on the Saturday afternoon of May 26, 2018!
There is a lot of history within the walls of this historic jail and we’d like to share it with you!
This jail opened in 1889 and didn’t close its doors for good until 1987. Built in a Richardson-Romanesque style by renowned Ohio architect J.W. Yost, it fits in perfectly with the surrounding downtown historic district of Newark, Ohio that we see today!
This fortress is just as unique on the inside as it is on the outside! Come see for yourself!
